Welcome to
the Christian Recovery Coalition!
The Christian Recovery Coalition is an
informal fellowship of Christian Recovery groups and programs that serve
the greater Thurston, Mason, Kitsap, and Grays Harbor counties of Washington
State.
Christian Recovery groups offer
individuals the opportunity to minister to each other and to observe the
restoration of lives and relationships through the love of Christ and the
power of the Holy Spirit. Our member groups rely on Scripture-based
support for healing from dependencies, hurts, habits, & hang-ups.
We celebrate God's healing power in our
lives and open the door to change by sharing our experiences, strengths
and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's
grace to solve our life problems.
Our programs use the same twelve steps that you will find in most other
self-help groups. These steps provide a structured process in which to
learn the most basic of spiritual truths and then apply them to our life.
By working and applying these steps, we begin to grow spiritually. We
finally become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional
behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most
importantly, a stronger personal relationship with Jesus and with others.
You might think of our
program as a bridge between secular support groups and the Church. We
encourage people who find our program beneficial to continue to
participate in AA, NA or other Twelve Step programs and counseling
appropriate to their situation.
Typical Christian Recovery meetings include an opening with introductions
and prayer, praise and worship, a time for devotional study, learning from
the Word of God, open sharing, and a closing prayer. The essentials of
anonymity, confidentiality, and unity in Christ are always observed.
